How to Style Ceramic Showpieces on a Console Table
A console table needs to work as furniture as well as a display surface. Before adding a showpiece, decide whether the table also holds keys, a lamp or everyday items. Keeping that space usable makes the arrangement easier to live with.
Start with one main piece
Choose a figurine whose outline you want to see clearly. A group of many equally prominent objects can make it harder to notice any one of them. Place the main piece first, then add a smaller supporting object only if the surface still feels balanced.
Three different approaches
- Swan Family Showpiece: a white ceramic family of four swans with gold-colour detailing and a coloured base. The listed dimensions are 21.5 cm high, 17 cm long and 10 cm wide. Use its shape and colours as the starting point for the surrounding display.
- Ceramic Couple Figurine: a silver-tone, heart-shaped design listed at 12 inches high, 4 inches wide and 3 inches long. Its taller silhouette calls for sufficient clearance below a mirror or shelf.
- Azure Ceramic Horse: a horse sculpture for a console, shelf or desk. Check the product listing or contact us for dimensions before choosing a space with a tight fit.
Check the footprint as well as the height
Mark out the listed length and width on paper and place it on the table. This gives you a simple way to judge how much working space remains. Keep the piece away from edges and door swings, and check that the surface is level and stable.
Repeat a colour without matching everything
A white-and-gold ornament can sit near a frame with a similar accent. A silver-tone figurine can work with a restrained background. An artificial flower bunch can introduce a softer outline next to a sculptural piece. Leave space between objects so the individual shapes remain visible.
If you add flowers, check the complete vase-and-bunch height rather than comparing the bunch alone. Our artificial flower guide explains that measurement.
Separate decorative objects from tableware
A decorative ceramic showpiece is not automatically intended for food, water or outdoor use. Follow its care instructions and handle projecting details carefully. Cultural associations of swans or horses may influence a gift choice, but a decorative object does not guarantee prosperity, relationships or other outcomes.
Make a gift easier to place
Consider the recipient’s available shelf or table space and their preferred colours. For a smaller home, a clearly measured piece is easier to choose than a large item selected only from a close-up photograph. Browse ceramic showpieces or housewarming gifts for current options.
